Disasters can affect cervical cancer screening for years

(Tohoku University) Screening is important for the early detection of cervical cancer, but rates were significantly affected, in some areas for years, following a devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

This study aims to investigate the concordance of treatment options between WFO and real clinical practice for Cervical cancer patients retrospectively. We retrospectively enrolled 300 cases of cervical cancer patients. WFO provides treatment options for 246 supported cases. Real clinical practice were defined as concordant if treatment options were designated “recommended” or “for consideration” by WFO. Concordance of treatment option between WFO and real clinical practice was analyzed statistically. The treatment concordance between WFO and real clinical practice occurred in 72.8% (179/246) of cer…

Conclusion: The CMR of disease outside the radiation field at six months post-treatment provides evidence of an abscopal effect which was significantly associated with the addition of mEHT to treatment protocols. This finding is important as the combined synergistic use of radiotherapy with mEHT could broaden the scope of radiotherapy to include systemic disease.

AbstractWe suggested operative techniques and indications of robotic neck surgery. To determine operative techniques and the indications for robotic neck surgery, we analyzed treatment outcomes of patients who received robotic neck surgery. Between May 2010 and July 2018, a total of 945 patients with various neck diseases visited Severance Hospital and underwent robotic neck surgery. A variety of approaches, including the retroauricular approach (RA), modified facelift approach (MFLA), transaxillary approach (TA), and transaxillary retroauricular approach (TARA), was used to remove various tumors in the neck. A total of 23…

Abstract
Purpose. To investigate the pathology and prognostic value of hyperechoic echo halo in cN0 papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) and the relationship between age, gender, and the formation of abnormal hyperechoic echo halo and cervical lymph node metastasis. Data of 97 patients who underwent surgical treatment for the first time for single PTMC between April 2016 and March 2017 were analyzed retrospectively. The boundary status of the PTMC was determined preoperatively. Grayscale values of the nodular center, hyperechoic echo halo, and normal thyroid tissue were acquired with Adobe Photoshop CS6 softwar…
