MOSCOW ($1=60.59 Russian Rubles) — Military factories in Russia urgently reduce production times and increase the scope of military production. This is what Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, requested. On September 20, he met with all the heads of military plants in the country.
The Kremlin quoted the Russian president’s words in a press release. The Russian president asked manufacturers to optimize technological cycles. “The production of military products must be done without compromising on quality,” Putin added. The Russian president added that the armed forces of Russia should receive the necessary equipment “as soon as possible”.
Putin also spoke about the captured Ukrainian equipment in Ukraine. According to the Russian head of state, the military-industrial complexes should quickly study them. In this way, Putin believes, Russian weapons systems will be improved. This is necessary for building Russia’s capabilities, the Russian leader stressed.
Deliveries to Ukraine ‘make sense’
At the same time, Ukraine demanded that the supply of weapons, ammunition, other military equipment, and medical materials not stop. This was announced on September 19 by Dmitry Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. According to Kuleba, the results of the Ukrainian counter-offensive are proof that “it makes sense” for supplies to continue, and even increase.
A few days earlier, on September 16, it became clear that Washington was ready to provide additional military aid to Kyiv for 600 million USD. According to US sources, the military aid will come from Pentagon stockpiles. A similar practice has been observed in the last few months.
Deliveries of weapons and equipment to Ukraine began almost immediately after the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24 of this year. Russia calls the war in Ukraine a “special military operation”, claiming it is defending the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics. Both self-proclaimed republics demanded that Moscow recognize them as independent republics.
